The manor of Charlton was first mentioned in the Domesday Survey of 1806 and although it is said that merchant Roger Ames built Charlton House for his bride in 1630, architectural details point to a much earlier date.
Roger and Monty Saul, the creators of the world-renowned Mulberry Design Company, acquired the property in October l996. They have since added an Orangery for private dining and meetings, 8 further bedrooms and a Spa.
Decorated with imagination, flair and a sense of theatre far from the 'look-but-don't touch' the House exudes an ambience of comfortable, informal splendour, where relaxation comes easily.
A delicious range of Ronnefeldt loose leaf teas now complements your stay.
